NINE TO NOON: Interview with Olympia Dukakis

Academy Award winning actress, Olympia Dukakis, speaks to Kathryn Ryan about her stellar career, which includes roles in films such as Moonstruck and Steel Magnolias. Her new film Cloudburst, in which she plays a foul-mouthed, hard-drinking lesbian who elopes to Canada with her partner (played by Brenda Fricker), is showing in New Zealand as part of the Out Takes Film Festival.

Out Takes 2012 Opening this Week in Auckland
With the streets now paved with the rich golden leaves of late Autumn the colder nights are perfect for the rich feast of films we have on offer at this year’s Out Takes Film festival.
This coming week Out Takes shines onto the silvers screens in Auckland with our grand opening night at Rialto Cinemas, Newmarket on Thursday 24th May Join the Reel Queer team at Rialto Newmarket’s bar to kick off the 18th Out Takes Film Festival.
The Rialto bar will be dedicated to the event and there will be fabulous prizes given away before the movie. There will be extra staff on duty so you will feel spoiled.
We are delighted to present you with two exceptional movies:
One for the Boys: Let My People Go!
And for the Girls we have the exceptional: Cloudburst
We have the very best in queer film from around the world from such diverse places as India, Poland, Belgium, Finland and even Outer Space! And be sure to check out our full line up of films, the majority of which will not screen again in this country.

Reel Queer Inc is now a registered charity
In August 2009 Reel Queer Inc were registered as a charity with the Charities Commission. The Reel Queer team hope that our new status as a registered charity will open new funding opportunities for Out Takes in the future.
