George is an adventurous and defiant young woman enjoying the Pigalle night scene of 1960s Paris.
Haunted and shaken by the sudden death of her first love, George throws herself into forming a new identity: Gigola. She launches into risky, subversive behaviour ruled by her own style and moral code. A life full of streetwise deals, women of the night, bar girls and an attitude to be paid for.
The Guardian gave Gigola a rave review, writing: It's steamy, saucy, racy and suffused with the feeling of wickedness you might get from drinking spirits before lunch or smoking in church.
