Registered Charity

As a registered charity we have IRD donee status which means that individuals who donate to Reel Queer Inc can claim a rebate and companies can claim a deduction.

As an individual, you can help support Reel Queer's Out Takes film festival. We welcome financial support towards the significant costs of producing our film festival.

You can help by giving a one-off or regular donation. Donations of $5.00 or more are receipted, and are eligible for tax deduction. All donations are gratefully accepted, just download our donation form or, if you want more information or would like to bequeath a legacy to Reel Queer Inc, please contact us directly.

Supporting Out Takes

If you are passionate about seeing queer lives represented on film in movie theatres, Reel Queer is giving you the opportunity to help us make a difference. As a supporter of the Out Takes Film Festival you will be aware of the power of queer films - reminding us who we are, informing and transforming people both in and outside of our communities, and advancing our movement for equal rights.

Supporters will remember that the all volunteer Reel Queer team were not in a financial position to run a queer film festival in 2008 due to the upfront costs required to produce the festival. Thanks to a lot of effort on the part of the Reel Queer team and support from sponsors and movie-goers, fund-raising events held during 2008 helped with our financial situation and Out Takes film festival was back in 2009 and is now happening again in 2010...

Reel Queer Inc is now a registered charity

In August 2009 Reel Queer Inc was registered as a charity with the Charities Commission. For more information about Reel Queer Inc's charitable status, see the Charities Register at www.charities.govt.nz [Charity Number CC41933].

Looking Forward

The queer community has expressed strong support for the Reel Queer team and Out Takes. Out Takes film festival was definitely missed in 2008!

It's an expensive exercise putting on a film festival and to continue holding Out Takes as an annual event we need your help to ensure this year's festival is a success.

As well as financial donations from individuals, and organisations and businesses providing sponsorship and advertising support, each movie ticket sold helps ensure we can continue to bring you a queer film festival each year. Come to as many films as you can and bring your friends!
