If you are passionate about seeing queer lives represented on film in movie theatres, Reel Queer is giving you the opportunity to help us make a difference. As a supporter of the Out Takes Film Festival you will be aware of the power of queer films – reminding us who we are, informing and transforming people both in and outside of our communities, and advancing our movement for equal rights.

Despite our best fund-raising efforts in 2007, the all volunteer Reel Queer team were not in a financial position to commit to running a queer film festival in 2008 due to the upfront costs required to produce the festival. Looking Forward
 The queer community has rallied around and indicated strong support for the Reel Queer team bringing back Out Takes in 2009. We have welcomed Phillipa, Virginia and Helen to our organising group in Wellington and they are focussing on fund-raising activities and co-ordinating organisation of the events.

How can you help?

Donations
As an individual, you can also help bring Out Takes Film Festival back. We are asking for financial support to clear the outstanding debt from Out Takes 2007 (around $8,000), and establish a fund (an additional $30,000) to produce a full Out Takes Film Festival in 2009.
