About Reel Queer

Reel Queer Inc is a group of hard working queers based mainly in Wellington, but with co-ordinators in Auckland & Christchurch, that organise New Zealand's annual gay and lesbian film festival.

Out Takes 2007 was the thirteenth annual festival since the inaugural festival took place at Wellington's Paramount Theatre in 1995. The festival's first expansion outside Wellington was to Christchurch in 1997, followed by Auckland in 1998. The festival went to Dunedin from 2001 to 2003.

We are now working on special fundraising events for 2008 - we'll screen a current feature film and envisage these events will be like a festival Opening Night – entertainment, drinks, socialising and of course watching the film on the big screen with a full cinema.

As a non-profit community group we are often looking for hardworking volunteers, particularly those willing to make a regular commitment throughout the year.

If you are interested in getting involved, let us know!
