societys expectations.

Girl Named Kai follows Kai and her search for love, fame and
her identity across four countries.
Out of the political tumult of South Africa comes Enraged by a
Picture which explores the fallout from photographer Zanele Muholis
first solo exhibition which sought to illuminate the hidden bodies of
her courageous subjects. This was her opportunity to respond to feedback
generated after she took her work from the gallery to the streets.
XX to XY: Fighting to be Jake is a touching documentary
using interviews, music and animation to tell of a young FTMs courage
to stand up against society, the medical system, and his own fears. It
looks at his journey into a body he hopes will bring him happiness, while
he struggles to find the love he hopes will make him whole.
Gender Rebel follows the lives of three individuals seeking to
shatter the confines of a traditional gender identity. They define themselves
not as male or female, but something that incorporates both. Jill is breaking
new ground coming out as gender-queer to her family. Kim and her girlfriend
struggle to live with what Kims top surgery means for their individual
identities. And Lauren is deciding if shell stay in her hometown
or move to the big city to find the space to express her gender-fluid
identity.
