Boys' Tales

A queer take on all manner of relationships - with parents, friends, lovers, enemies

In Attack a neo-Nazi skinhead is apprehended after two black friends are assaulted in an alley. Police arrive, but perhaps not everything is as it seems… When a young director puts out an open casting call for his new film based on his family, he never expects his own father to audition for Lead Role: Father.

Set in an exclusive boys’ school, Gareth learns in Boys Grammar that his feelings can only be expressed through violence. In the atmospheric NZ film A Man’s Sort of Man a father tries to understand his son and the relationship he had with his own father, while out on Hampstead Heath in Summer, two young men mess around, but one of them feels more than either bargained for.

Over Two Nights a young Asian immigrant to Australia has sexual encounters with two very different men and in A Prayer in January, two Israeli lovers put an end to their relationship, after one of them chooses a religious way of life.
