Submissions for Out Takes 2008

Deadline for submissions: 1 March 2008

Out Takes is not a competitive festival but we do offer Audience Awards - voted by filmgoers - for Best Feature Film, Best Documentary and Best (Narrative) Short Film.

Filmmakers and distributors should complete our submission form and send it with a DVD (preferred) or VHS screener (preview tape) to the Out Takes programmers.

Enclose with the submission form a DVD (preferred) or VHS (PAL or NTSC) copy of the film, a synopsis of the film, and any other publicity material you wish to send e.g. photos, press kits.

Out Takes 2008: A Reel Queer Film Festival Dates and Venues

Out Takes is one of New Zealand's most important queer cultural events and the only national gay and lesbian film festival. Annual national attendance figures have averaged 13,000 in recent years. The festival currently tours to New Zealand's three largest cities.

Here are the festival dates in 2008:

     Auckland - Thu 22 May - Sun 1 June 2008
     Wellington - Thu 29 May - Sun 8 June 2008
     Christchurch - Thu 5 June - Wed 11 June 2008

Only the Auckland and Wellington festivals screen the full programme of feature films, documentaries and short film programmes. Christchurch screens fewer shorts programmes and documentaries. Not all films selected for Out Takes 2008 will screen in all cities.
