Bad Girls Behind Bars takes a campy look at women in prison films and pokes fun at your favorite sluts in the slammer. Shown in living color and glorious black and white, the past meets the present in this rollicking cellblock send up. Sharon Zurek brings the lesbian subtext to the forefront by combining four women in prison movies to make one big happy prison of bad girls. A riot of laughs and steamy scenes from the 1933 Barbara Stanwyck film Ladies They Talk About; the 1956 Girls in Prison, with TV's original Lois Lane fighting off the advances of her cell-mate; Women in Cages (1971), starring the L-Word’s Pam Grier in a very different role, as a sadistic pot-smoking warden of a women’s prison; and Ione Skye and Anne Heche in the 1994 TV remake of Girls in Prison. Get ready for a campy evening of cellblock spoofing and lecherous lesbian lingo. Oh, and be prepared to scream at the screen: "Yes Matron!"
