Both Charismatic and beautiful, Rebeca Duarte has it all: an exciting job as a stuntwoman, great friends, and both male and female lovers. Kicking ass in a flaming Godzilla costume or jumping out of a car in high heels and a big red wig are all a part of her everyday work as a stunt double for independent action films. Nonetheless, a sense of unease and frustration always haunts her about her body. One day, she receives an unexpected package from an aunt in Peru – an old family photo album full of pictures of her parents and her dead baby brother, but none of her. The photos set off memories that cannot be silenced. Rebeca begins to explore the mystery. As she follows the leads, Rebeca learns a truth about herself that shakes her to the core: the brother she was always told about was, in fact, herself. Rebeca learns of her childhood diagnosis as a hermaphrodite and the ensuing clitorectomy that turned her "officially" into a girl, and left her without the ability to have an orgasm. In the process she embarks on an unexpected journey of self-discovery that challenges perceptions of sexuality, gender identity, family, and the role of the medical establishment.
