D.E.B.S.
Dir: Angela Robinson, USA, 2004, 35mm, 91 mins
This queer spy-spoof-meets-teen-flick has proved a huge crowd pleaser at festivals worldwide. D.E.B.S. is a paramilitary elite academy, training schoolgirls to be sharp-shooting secret agents. The D.E.B.S. girls blast gay stereotypes armed with high-tech weaponry, and a bucket load of dyked-up humour. Amy is D.E.B.S.’ great hope for defeating gorgeous, sexy arch villain Lucy Diamond. The team – disguised in tartan school uniforms and knee-high socks – stake out Lucy’s HQ and thwart her plans to sink Australia. It’s clear Lucy intrigues Amy and when they finally meet the chemistry is more than they can handle. Before their mission, and the steamy weekend, is over, Amy and the girls will have to bring the master criminal to justice. Or will they? SUPPORTED BY
