 FRIENDS AND FAMILY

Dir: Kirsten Coury, USA, 2002, 35mm, 87 mins

M - Contains violence, sexual references & offensive language

Stephen and Danny are handsome, straight-acting lovers who work as henchmen for a NYC mafia boss. Stephen's parents visit, throwing them into a spin. They know their son is gay but not that he and Danny are gangsters… and Stephen hasn't mentioned that his father is an FBI agent. Catering Is their cover but they literally can't boil an egg. Attempting to protect them, their mafia colleagues agree to play gay for the day, and to be waiters at an elegant dinner for Stephen's parents. Taking lessons in 'camp', they swish and dish like the best. Meanwhile, a right wing military group is set to hijack the whole affair...

A sell-out at the Melbourne and Brisbane queer film festivals' Opening Nights, Friends And Family is the perfect choice for opening night at Out Takes 2003.
