This year we have seven excellent feature films and docos ranging from the subtle Between Two Women, the not-so-subtle Nine Dead Gay Guys, to the sexy When Boys Fly and Sugar Sweet. The superbly crafted feature L.I.E. is a must see at this year’s festival – it’s directed by Michael Cuesta of Six Feet Under fame and has won critical acclaim and numerous awards. Our two programmes of short films are great fun and we hope you'll make the most of the opportunity to see these clever cinematic gems from various international queer filmmakers.

Reel Queer is an incorporated society run on a non-profit basis by volunteers from the queer community. The censorship difficulties experienced by other local film festivals last year have reminded us of the importance of our objects, not least of which is to bring to New Zealand screens positive and challenging images that reflect the diversity of our lives and culture.
