to inform and transform people both in and outside of our communities,
to bring people together to celebrate queer culture and to advance the
movement for equal rights...

Queer Films in the 2010 New Zealand International Film Festival
There are a number of films in the 2010 programme of the NZ International
Film Festical which are of interest to the queer community.
In the documentary section are Gordon Crook: A Life of Art,
Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work, and Strange Powers:
Stephin Merritt and the Magnetic Fields. Feature films include
the award winning I Killed My Mother, To Die
Like a Man, The Runaways, HOWL,
Undertow, and the much talked about comedy I
Love You, Phillip Morris starring Ewan McGregor and Jim Carrey.

Reel Queer Inc has been organising New Zealand's annual queer film festival - Out Takes - since 1995. Reel Queer Inc is now a registered charity
In August 2009 Reel Queer Inc were registered as a charity with the Charities Commission. The Reel Queer team hope that our new status as a registered charity will open new funding opportunities for Out Takes in the future.
